Bucky left Wyong early Sunday morning and heading towards sunny Queensland!  First stop back to Wauchope, to camp for one night,  A Steam Railway Festival was on for the weekend.  As we were still suffering from the flu, Rod cooked up a chicken neck broth on an open fire, much to Rusty's delight who eagerly consumed the leftover chicken necks. 

 

Next morning, weather already warming up, we stopped at Coffs Harbour, to take the obligatory selfie in front of the Big Banana. On the way to Lawrence, google took us through the sugar cane farms.  We had to get a free ferry across the river to get to our next camp spot in town of Lawrence, behind the Tavern, which included shower and toilets for $10, a lovely picturesque spot.

Next morning we drove to Lennox Head and had breakfast overlooking the beach.  A very busy tourist spot with lots of surfers and swimmers, people out enjoying the sun and school holidays! Then onto ex sister in law's Margaret in Sandgate for a quick catch up and stay overnight in van on front lawn.  Next morning we did a quick wash and dry in the local laundromat and then travelled on towards Sunshine Coast.  Stopping on the way at a steep lookout (or should I say work out), where you could see great view of Brisbane and Sunshine Coast.  Stopped at Sunshine Plaza for lunch, 8pc sushi for $10 and bought tank tops for Rod and sandals for Sara, as weather is warming up.

That night we stayed at Belli Creek Park, just out of Noosa, a free camp spot which was very busy with European backpackers, giggling till the early hours of the morning.  We left early, stopped for our customary $1 coffee (Sara's favourite treat) and petrol.  We then travelled on to Tiaro Memorial Park, where we decided to stay overnight, as a lovely spot with bbq, toilets/shower and park.  A few metres to walk to town, where bought chops for Rod and bone for Rusty.  And spoke to a vietnam vet who advised me to contact veteran affairs as I may get a veteran affairs card due to my having down military service.

Early in the morning we travelled to Hervey Bay and after a walk along the beach visited the RSL.  And made our way towards Bunderberg.
