Once again Bucky is all better with a new fuel pump and two new back tyres he is ready to hit the dusty red highway to Broome.  Our time here at Darwin is at an end.  We visited Northcliffe many times to sit under the cool shade, swim and feel the coastal breeze, we even had a nice cool beer as it is legal to do that at this beach.  I had to carry Rusty back to the van when it was being repaired as the ground and temp was too hot for him.  At a cost of $515 for fuel pump/filter and 2 new rear tyres at $218 it was a great place to get the van into optimal shape again.

The Casino here gave us a cheap senior lunch (over 50's) and a free morning tea and clean toilets and hence we visited often.  Gaining some free play money each time. The pokies here are more giving than the Crown Casino in Perth.  We stuck to our limit of $5 spending money for entertainment and drank heaps of free hot coffee/chocolate drinks.

We also caught up with Vallerie a Renner Spring's backpacker working at the airport now and was good to hear that she had a good stable job. Did our last stealth camp in front of an apartment block and left early in the morning.

We had a short stop in Kununurra for fuel and give Rusty a walk at the local park. Next stop Dunham River (Free Camp) just out of Kununurra and then to Timber Creek (Free Croc Feeding) Campsite, nice showers and kitchen amenities.  We got all our fruit together and ate it on the way to the WA Border.  Got inspected for 2 minutes and soldiered on having to give up my two spuds.

Kept driving till we reached Ngumban Cliff after travelling through Halls Creek.  These last fews days we have seen such scenic sections travelling through national parks with tall rocky mountain vistas. We are pushing onwards to Broome fuelling up as we go as while travelling we have the vans air-conditioning on. 

We bypassed Derby and spent two days at the PCYC oval in Broome, as only $20 per night.  We got upgraded too, as the guy next to us was picked up for drunk driving and was returned to the camp site via police van and was becoming loud and banging his baseball bat inside his van.  I did offer him a salmon kebab.  But he said, "no thanks", as his meal was covered in flies and had been out all day.

The owners of the camp site came around and apologised to us and gave us a shady powered site for free. The following morning he was gone, as told to move on.

It's been so very hot, (especially for Rusty) and very little shade, so only going out during the evening to walk and get shopping supplies. Looking forward to the cooler weather down south.
