Life on the road should never be boring! Here are some of the ways I’ve injected fun into my van:

• Darts On-the-Go: A dartboard behind the front seat means I can camp up, screw it into a tree, and enjoy a game of darts in nature.

• Archery Skills: My longbow, neatly stored in the wardrobe, allows me to practice shooting on open fields.

• Rainy Day Gaming: With a TV and an Xbox One, I’m ready for cozy gaming sessions when the weather turns gloomy.

• River Adventures: A two-person inflatable kayak is perfect for exploring rivers, fishing, or just enjoying the water.

• Classic Games: Cards, a frisbee, a tennis ball, Upwords, and dice—simple games that pack a lot of fun into small spaces.

• Fishing Gear: Two rods and a DIY worm farm ensure I’m always ready for the next fishing spot.

These additions ensure there’s never a dull moment, even if the campsite isn’t brimming with activities.

Practical Upgrades for Everyday Comfort

While fun is important, functionality matters too. Here are the improvements I’ve made to keep things comfortable and efficient:

• Shaving Simplified: A shower mirror helps me stay neat, inspired by a less-than-perfect shave during my November Dwellingup adventure.

• Better Organization: New attachment points throughout the van keep everything secure, while open cupboards around the TV offer easy access to essentials.

• Sliding Cupboard Clips: These stop cupboards from flying open during bumpy rides.

• Fuel Efficiency: Converting my reward points into fuel vouchers helps keep travel costs low—a bonus for the budget!

• Multi-Tasking Bucket: A simple bucket doubles as a portable laundry machine while driving. Talk about efficient!

• Kitchen Comfort: A fan installation is on the way, and I’m setting up a sound bar with Bluetooth for music in the front cabin.

 

Planning for the Heat

As the hot months roll in, I’m keeping my adventures local, looping back home to cool off when needed. This way, I can enjoy the best of both worlds: the thrill of the open road and the comfort of home.
